Fetish Fighters Revealed Alpha Test
11/6/2003 6:30:09 PM | Posted by: JerryF | Post a commentWebsiteI've just posted an alpha version (very incomplete) of my new fighting game, Fetish Fighters Revealed. I really want to spend some time trying to polish this one, so I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Its just zipped up for now (no installer), so you'll need the VB6 runtime already installed, and IE 6 (for the XML DOM support.)
Here's a short list of some of the things I've put into it so far:
• Characters have been shrunk to about 80 % of there original size. • Power ups have been added!! You can now pickup a health power up, or pickup a strength power up • The combo system has been rewritten to allow you to combine your own series of moves. • Each character now has twice as many basic offensive moves as before • Improved visuals with each character now being anti-aliased. • More detailed stages • Improved animated sequences • Completely rewrote the collision detection system.
New Isometric MMORPG
11/3/2003 1:29:57 AM | Posted by: Athlor | Post a commentWebsite This is an EARLY alpha but demonstrates it's capabilities. It's design to be extremely efficient in using system resources. It will be fully customizable but will use Dungeons & Dragons v3.5 rules for combat. This Lean and Mean concept is what I believe makes this one different from similar projects. After minimal combat routines are finished the source will be available. Right now, though, only the executables are available at : http://neorealm.20m.com

It is similiar to the strategy hit Master of Orion 2 but introduces lots of new concepts which will bring in more fun and tactical options into the game. The server and client software are both implemented in VB.NET but don't use any advanced graphics API yet. Check out the website for further information.

New Universal Hunter Game
10/6/2003 7:18:07 AM | Posted by: Vampire | Post a commentWebsiteI promised to come back with some games sooner, but I had some difficulties... And Now: Don't have to go in bars, casinos or game saloons to play this kind of game anymore. It is here, it has all the features needed (risking to get more points, super plays, bonus), only the money is what you don't get (or give). There is a pretty good and detailed help in the game. Just click on the HELP button when it flashes. I have another game in work. Whet it will be finished, I'll let you know. Until then you can read about it in the reviews section of the uhunter site.

2003 Golden Coconut Awards Calling Judges
8/15/2003 4:59:35 AM | Posted by: Jason Li | Post a commentWebsite For those of you who've been around since mid-2001, you may recall the Golden Coconut Awards that were held by the doofy folk over at VB Gamers Haven. Well, we're back!
There are 10 main categories: best programmer, best contributor, best website content, best community site, best technology, best complete game, best new site, most original concept, award for general excellence, and award for most prominent work.
A panel of judges decides who wins for these categories, and ultimately may also decide on new categories depending on how things are run. This is where you come in, we're running short on judges this year, so if anyone's interested please email me at jasonli@iname.comwith your name and a bit about yourself.
Do consider helping, judges need not do more than post and discuss their opinions.

Inhabitants 1.0 Available for Free
8/7/2003 3:42:05 PM | Posted by: S. Thompson | Post a commentWebsite It's a tile-clearing frenzy. You've got to clear board after board of Inhabitants while creating color combinations and strategically clearing blocks to make better moves. Inhabitants: it's the kind of thing you do instead of solitaire.

Retro Remakes Competition Entries
8/2/2003 2:50:18 AM | Posted by: hotrodx | Post a commentWebsite Hi! I'd like to invite everyone to check out the entries in the Retro Remakes competition at www.remakes.org.
My entry, Space Harrier VGL (#41), was written in VB (and VGL 1.1), to make sure Visual Basic is represented in the competition.
It's an open-language competition. There are games written in C++, C, Delphi, DarkBasic, BlitzBasic, Div, Gamemaker, etc.
The entries can be found at: http://www.remakes.org/website/competition/results.php
Check it out for pure nostalgia fix, especially for old-timers out there.
