This is an EARLY alpha but demonstrates it's capabilities. It's design to be extremely efficient in using system resources. It will be fully customizable but will use Dungeons & Dragons v3.5 rules for combat. This Lean and Mean concept is what I believe makes this one different from similar projects. After minimal combat routines are finished the source will be available. Right now, though, only the executables are available at : http://neorealm.20m.com

I have to confess I'm impressed that you landed the legal rights to use the 3.5 rules.

Actually DnD has been under an open license since version 3 ... (from the site) Q: I want to distribute computer software using the OGL. Is that possible? A: Yes, it's certainly possible. The most significant thing that will impact your effort is that you have to give all the recipients the right to extract and use any Open Game Content you've included in your application, and you have to clearly identify what part of the software is Open Game Content.

The engine seems to be pretty fast, though the graphical displaying is a little buggy in some places. Also, if you hold down, your character flies across the map at jet-speed, so that doesn't seem too good ;) Looking pretty sweet though!

I knew anybody could use them and I still don't understand all the details. But, I just thought since it was all going to be freeware anyway, I wouldn't have to worry. Here is a link that describes the OGL (Open Gaming License). http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/br/br20010720a

Joshua, I'm clueless. The editor uses only system ram, I thought why bother vram when you don't need the framerate. I've tryed it on system from 2 -16 megs of vram and no problem. The ambiguous Automation error is the bane of DirectX programming. I could be many things. Obviously I have to try it on a larger variety of systems.
