DXRE, a DirectX Role Playing Game Engine, had its first public release on the code. Its an open source game, so no strings attached. Although it still isnt too advanced, the tile-engine is nice and fast. Comes with a giant Mario and guy from Breath of Fire ;)

Persistent Realities online

Persistent Realities is a new site which brings many of my own stuff to one central location.

Some of it's contents:
  • VB Fibre is now available at http://vbfibre.persistentrealities.com, and is now fully PHP and mySQL based. The site is a lot faster now than before! The previous URL at DigitalRice is now obsolete.

  • Articles and tutorials I have written can also be accessed from persistentrealities.com

  • A nice collection of source code, ASP, VB, DirectX, it's all there for you to download.

  • Forums. For both Quadrant Wars, and VB Fibre. If you think you found something new for VB Fibre, or want to give comments on something, do it there.

Don't forget to update your bookmarks, or links on your own site to VB Fibre...

Iridium Studios Gaming site is dedicated to Alternative ways of game programming, at the begining we started using DirectX 7, now we've looked at new alternatives such OpenGL for graphics programming in VB, now we can count about 9 OpenGL + VB tutorials, our OpenGL tutorials use pure API links to OpenGL libraries, no ActiveX, no Table Definitions or other stuff, just plain access.

Here is our new address: http://neptune.lunarpages.com/~iridiu1/gaming/

This redirection will be up soon too:

Help Wanted for Interactive Graphical MUD

8/10/2002 12:56:56 AM | Posted by: Rob "Ninja" Ford | Post a comment
I am looking for a few good men and women to help complete a modular, full-scale, 2-dimensional massively multiplayer world in which players can meet, interact, and explore. This is meant as an experiment in determining visual basic's ability to handle heavy network traffic and gameplay, and its modular design will allow for different graphic (WinGUI, DirectX, OpenGL?), audio, and network API's to be tested.
Currently needed are programmers experienced in massively multiplayer network architecture, DirectDraw design, or audio coding, as well as artists of all types. There is currently no website, so those interested in maintaining such a site are welcome as well. If you're interested, please feel free to email me or contact me on AOL Instant Messenger under "RMan3224."
