Cookie-based authentication? David Goodlad (14 replies, 0 views) (2000-Dec-6)

Hey everyone I'm now working on the user authentication system for the new site... But, I've got a little problem/question. Should I, or should I not, depend upon you guys having cookies enabled to be able to login? I do this on the black hole and haven't really had any complaints, but with a bit wider audience I think it's now a real concern. I can always change it later, but I'd like to get a general idea from you guys while I'm doing the initial development so that I don't have to 'hack in' a different system farther on in the development cycle. So, the question is in simple terms: Do you think I should require cookies in order to login to the new site? Thanks a lot, David
