Okay I gonna stick my 2% into this conversation! So please hear up. For one thing POINTERS are freakin the main idea of C\C++, I learned C about 2 yrs ago and that was my only way to open a file! So no POINTERS are NOT bad. Corre, if you were in the C\C++ pro industry then why the *beep* did you switch? I like VB and C++ and they both work sweetly! But I had to face the cold truth that, NOBODY IN THE INDUSTRY REALLY WANTS A VB PROGRAMMER! Really the only solution is start your own buissnes, which I did, (though not because I wanted to work just in VB, but for other reasons. And no its not Matrix Games). What I am trying to say is C\C++ is NOT EVIL! Yeah I'll agree that memory mangament is a big pain in the buttocks but thats life! I've been working DX with C++ without much complaining, though of course VB is much faster to code, C++ allows allot of flexibility. Maybe i'll code a converter so that we could code in VB then convert to C++! Also i have NEVER EVER heard C++ being unstable! For those of not knowing much about C\C++, it does not require MFC, so your basically free to program anything. Also if you don't want to move from VB to C++ thats fine, just learn C++ to write the DLLs if your writting a game, belive me C++ is FAST! And yo DiscoStew, you know why VB has its run-time DLL? Its cause VB is basically a INTERPRETED LANGUAGE that can be COMPILED while C\C++ are COMPILED LANGUAGES! I'm not trying to burn everyone I just wanted to bring up so points (like the pun?). Thanks for letting me to stick my 2% in. Please don't hate me for what I said, just please understand! Also respond! Lorn Matrix Games
