Community Help system - needs u Jack Hoxley (6 replies, 0 views) (2000-Oct-7) hi,
I've just been sitting around thinking of new things for my website (DirectX4VB)...
One thing was a community database or help scheme. Think of the "knowledge Base" on the MSDN. My idea would be to set up a system where people can submit a problem they've had, and the solution they found; for example.
In a recent thread here I was asking about Gouraud Shading/texture problems on TL vertices in D3D. I found (by guesswork) that the problem was that the RHW was set to 0, when it needed to be set to 1.
It could be written in about 3 sentences; and would probably help someone else...
So, would I be able to get support from people here for this project? If you think about it - you dont need to give away secrets, you help others, and after a few months - to a year this database would be pretty big..
All this project needs is:
Somewhere to host it (My site)
Someone to manage it (I can as well as others)
Someone to help set it up (a submition system and search system)
And the support of the community...
Post after this if you've got any thoughts or would like to pledge your support - or email me...
Hope to hear from y'all... ;)
Jack,
