Looks pretty cool, though I gave up early. I'm not much of a game that requires lots of reading, I follow the saying, "Less chat, more splat" when it comes to games. Did look pretty good though. Btw, nice day/night time effect, lol. =P

Oh well. Hopefully you got past the gate and into the actual part where you get to battle! :-) Still, thanks for checking it out!

(For those of you who haven't played yet, there is a short introductory quest in the game before the gates open and you are allowed out to fight).

Damn! I spent all my time trying to beat up townspeople =P (you should make that possible btw, like in Exile, love killing the innocent)

it would be nice if you could buy some weapons, and be able to choose what skills to upgrade when you go up a level.

Well, yes it would be nice, but the game system was designed to be simpler than most RPGs. We decided to focus on a large quest-based world; on the stories and characters rather than on the player's own development. We hope you enjoy it as an adventure rather than a hack/slash player-development. If you prefer that sort of action, we have created another game (in beta), Snorlack's Treasure, available from the same site, which is a text game, and features full inventory, attributes, followers, etc.

I started playing last night. . . so far so good. There are a few things that bug me though. Sometimes I'll be running along (holding down a movement key) and accidentally bump into someone important. Since I'm still holding down a key, the boxes showing dialog will pop up and disappear before I can react. I know this is mostly do to my own carelessness, but it would be nice if you could change it so the user would be required to actually lift his finger off the key and press it again to skip. Also, I wish that not every key would make time pass. When I intend to be dashing across the world, sometimes I will hit the wrong key, and my character will sit still while the enemies surround me and kick my butt. Going into all the things I like about the game would take a lot more time, but I will say that I appreciate the effort you spent making such a high quality help file. A lot of people neglect that, and I miss it when it's not there. I still haven't got very far yet, so maybe I'll comment again after I finish.

Thankyou very much Lachlan87 - your comments are appreciated. First of all, on racing through the dialogue boxes. I really don't know what's up with that - I've actually programmed in a system where there is an 0.5 second minimum time after a dialogue appears before it accepts key presses, for this very reason. I will investigate your problem, but everyone else who's played it complains that text boxes appear for too long! Sorry about that! As for the user having to lift his finger and press it back down, I haven't thought of this! I would love to implement it but it is actually quite hard. I'll see if its possible when I do more on the upcoming Expansion Set. Finally, as for all keys making time pass, I think you are also right about this! I've had this same problem several times. Therefore I will try to make a "skip time" key (default to Space Bar) and all the other keys do nothing. If you want to discuss any more with me, I'd be happy to receive an email (matt@summitinteractive.cjb.net) - thankyou once again.
