I have just uploaded the new version of my bluescreen video editing program. Written totally in VB. Its not Completely related to VB Games, but could be adapted easily. Would be ideal for cut scenes or fixing up your sprites key colour. It allows you to import/export an avi or a series of image files. Heres a few of the current features:

  • Import image sequences and video files
  • Key out colours to create perfect blue screen footage
  • Basic composition abilities. Load in a background sequence or video file and key the foreground footage over the top
  • Export to Avi and Bmp files
  • Export corrected frame, alpha channel or composited footage/images
  • Actor and Garbage Mattes
  • Saving and Loading of work
  • Heaps of customizable options
  • And Much More...

Download version 1.0 from my site http://www.pointystudios.cjb.net on the VB Programming page.

You can check out an old program I wrote, Sprite Master 2, which is for sprite editing and creation. Also my Binary Resource File Creator v1.2. Both of these are open source and ideal for games. Have a look at them Here

Persistent Realities online

->Website
Persistent Realities is a new site which brings many of my own stuff to one central location.

Some of it's contents:
  • VB Fibre is now available at http://vbfibre.persistentrealities.com, and is now fully PHP and mySQL based. The site is a lot faster now than before! The previous URL at DigitalRice is now obsolete.

  • Articles and tutorials I have written can also be accessed from persistentrealities.com

  • A nice collection of source code, ASP, VB, DirectX, it's all there for you to download.

  • Forums. For both Quadrant Wars, and VB Fibre. If you think you found something new for VB Fibre, or want to give comments on something, do it there.

Don't forget to update your bookmarks, or links on your own site to VB Fibre...

BomberMan VB 0.7
has now been officially release and its official site is back up. It is, as many of you know, the last update to the game which I made a while back. However it never got released to any gaming sites or to the public in general. So now finally I can put it to rest and hope that people enjoy my (fun) hard work.

Alex, Out.

Today, The Gathering Project, the VB RPG development powerhouse, celebrates its one-year anniversary. The TGP site has been updated with music demos created by DemonSpectre, an interview of the president of TGP by the creator of Yoderic's Battle Arena, and the first TGP Awards ceremony.

In a look back at TGP's first year, the current president of TGP gives a rundown of the project's accomplishments. Rajun' Dragon gives a revealing look at the underlying tale of how the project has survived politics and cutthroat rivalries, as well as his battle with his own inner demons.

To find all this and more, check out our site at our site

The Gathering Project enters its second year a little wiser, more sober, and with greater resolve to achieve.

Purple Ogre Adventure Game Maker

->Website
Soon to released by Electric Gremlin Ideas! This one's been in the works for a while now, and I feel it's finaly time to spill the beans on it. Purple Ogre is an adventure game creation system, which will allow users to create thier own graphical adventure games, with a console driven command system, similar to old classics like Deja-Vu, and The Uninvited. However graphics and sound are pretty much only limited by what you are capable of throwing at it :) The alpha version release is currently lined up for mid November or so. Downloads availble then.
