What is everyone's screen size and web browser? I'd like to know because the new VBgamer design is designed for a 1024 screen width. Considering that it's 2004, I would assume that most people that use their computer's for games would have at LEAST a 1024 screen resolution. Here is a screenshot of the new layout in 1280 x 1024.

I'm also curious to know what browser everyone is currently using. The new layout works fine in the latest versions of Opera, Mozilla, Firefox, and IE 6. IE 5 has some serious bugs, so for those people that are using that web browser, then I strongly suggest either Firefox which is only a 4.7 MB download, or updating to IE 6 with the lastest IE 6 service pack and patches (there are quite a few.)

I'm using Firefox v0.8. 1280x960 resolution. Looks fine here (BHGL and Coded in VB)

BTW, is there any way we can see the new layout for the new page on live? I mean, open it like a normal page instead of a screenshot

Oh yeah I must say the layout and content for the main page are REALLY cool! I MUST regret what I have said earlier about this new design! Real sorry!

Whatever. Who knows...

The problem isn't width these days. It's height. I designed my weather station's site (link at pr.com now), and the YALG site without the googlebar in mind. with the googlebar, it tends to be a tiny bit scrollable (which I find annoying). and I'm sure a lot of other people have a special toolbar.

Using 1024 and IE6 most of the time, sometimes FireFox.

Of course height here isn't a matter, because the website itself is very tall.

Whatever. Who knows...

I use 1280x1024 at work and 1024x768 at home... and IE6 at both, all good here.

I'm using 1024 and usually use Opera v7.52, although I sometimes use Firefox 0.9.

Think the new layout will encourage people to take advantage of the lesser used features of the site? That would be nice. . .

Hey! I just installed firefox 0.9.2 (over 0.8) and it solved the left column problem! Great!

Whatever. Who knows...

I think the majority of people who visit this site will be viewing it with IE @ 1024 or greater. But does resolution really matter anyways? I never use my browser while maximized. Also, the new layout seems a bit congested. I use Konqueror/Mozilla most of the time myself @ 1600x1200.

I always use the browser maximized. But this may be because your resolution is so big. (and I assume your monitor must be 19" or something around it)

Whatever. Who knows...

Nice layout. 1024x768 is my standard, at least until I get a 50" monitor.

I'm running Firefox also. And I'm a fan of any site that adapts to my resolution.

Actually, the new layout is static in size and currently does require a minimum of width of 1024.

If you use a 1024 resolution, then you'll need to maximize your browser window to see the entire screen. here is a screenshot at 1024x768 in IE 6. screenshot 2 90.24 KB

I hope so!

Hum, I was looking at the screenshot and decided to check out the GDNet panel. I think that with the news all together it becomes visually hard to see where one news ends and where the other starts. Maybe it would be better to place a space, or a marker, or a "-" or anything before each headline?

Just a suggestion.

Whatever. Who knows...
