Well, YALG (Yet Another Laser Game) is about done I guess :) I'd like to finish it with as less bugs as possible :)

YALG can be downloaded here:
http://www.persistentrealities.com/getfile.php?file=YALGSetup.exe (8.5mb). I bet that I have to check the windowed/fullscreen stuff another time, because of the line problem stuff (you'll see)..

Eventually I hope to sell it, from this site:

http://www.persistentrealities.com/yalgsite/ It ain't done yet, and I noticed weird things happen when you resize your browser window. The content in there isn't completely serious, and hasn't been checked on typo's either.

And last, do you think 8,5 is a nice price for this game?

Comments, ideas are welcome :)

If you plan on selling it then add some in game help information to help players understand what some of the buttons do and how to win. Also when changing the resolution to anything smaller than 1024 the layout gets jammed together and buttons and text are overlapping and not aligned correctly.

Tied it out and it looks pretty good. I noticed at first that it flickered alot and you could see the desktop icons through the window, though this stopped after a while. Some documentation would help as well. Other than that, it looks good!

About the price: I assume you mean 8.50 Euros (That is about 9 or 10 US dollars I think)? That seems like it is pretty reasonable. The game is challenging and addictive, so I'm sure a few peope will pay to play!

BTW, is it physically possible to beat the "Diagonal fun" (or whatever it is called) level? I tried for about 20 minutes before giving up.

sdw: There's F1, and a tooltip (which, I realize takes too long to appear, since everyone says there is no help.) F1 hasn't been updated in a long time. I want to make 3 "pages" for it.

And the resolution problem is hard to get solved unfortunatly. That's one of my main concerns atm.

Sr. Guapo: I meant 8,50 dollar :). I'm glad you think the game is nice, and I plan on adding documentation, I'm working on that already, using Yalg site's layout.

btw, try turning the music on.. it swaps every map (it should fade I guess), what do you think of it? I had to down sample it a lot to get reasonable file sizes..

and I don't think the diagonal fun map can be solved, actually.. it might have been one of the older maps I converted, this conversion often lead to something strange: some tiles were one tile higher than the oringal (old) version.. which could be the reason for it not to be solvable.. :)

yeah almar, you should really look at your game in thoses lower resolutions, it looks horrable (especially on the options screen). The only slowdown i got was on the menu screnn (with that background). Besides that, its great, and i would buy it.

P.S. disable the map-maker for the trial version (assuming that was the trial version i downloaded)

Nah, this is the full version basically :) But I have some tricks 'on my sleeve' or something :)

At the lower resolutions I am dividing my tiles with the "resolution factor (eg: (800 / 1024) * tilewidth) for 800x600). Unfortunatly it causes quite some problems...

Looking good, there were some bugs that I noticed on the previous version but were correct in this one. I just think we need more levels :)

Whatever. Who knows...

Who knows. Maybe I could do some. I just need to understand better what each item does.

Gotta read the docs then

P.S. "exchange" is really the name for the level. Play it and you will understand why!

Whatever. Who knows...

Hmm, the mirrors i nthe map are mirrors which should be there, or eventually be removed? And should the map finish when I press play (guess not , but I'll just ask if it's a bug in the game if it doesn't :P)

looks complex to me :)

You just need to move some mirrors :) If you click play at the start it should break the emmitter.

Also if the laser stops at an ice cube just stop and re-play, there seems to be a random bug that causes the laser to get stuck in the ice randomly.

Whatever. Who knows...

Yes, that is one of the most annoying bugs :)

i was wondering, why are you able to move the mirrors that are on the level by default, seems counter-intuitive to me

Eh, that's nt supposed to happen. Any predefined mirrors should be fixed. I guess somewhere a boolean is not set anymore, it used to be right ;)
