Message from the admin Adam Hoult (8 replies, 0 views) (2000-May-30) Hi all,
I've just had a chance to check out the past messages, i think some people are being a little unfair, I have no problem with people posting anything they like on this board, if it's something like "Im new to programming, can someone show me how to write a medieval type game" for instance, thats fine, they have a right to be here as much as anyone else. If you think it's a dumbass question, just don't answer it rather than making that person feel that they are not welcome, when of course they are.
All it takes is a little bit of thought, and to reply with something like, "I'm sorry, we can't teach you how to write a whole game, but we can help you out with specific programming questions, or if you want to learn how to start coding this sort of thing, i know a great site at http://blah blah blah".
Anyway end of rant, i realise some of you may or may not feel threatened by the amount of "Newbie" game coders coming into the scene since DX7 came out, but put yourself in their shoes, the internet is a huge source of information, why not use it to help start them off in the right direction ? this is "VB Gaming Central" after all.
p.s that was not aimed at anyone in particular, it's just how i feel that this message board should be used in general, by myself and everyone else.
