Well, not really for VB... BUT, if you can get ahold of old demo tutorials and stuff (if you aren't aware, 'demo's are short pieces of code that do all sorts of cool effects, demonstrating a coder's ability to make graphical effects in real-time, usually with music in the background.), you will find quite a few good algorithms for doing what you want (like fades, wipes, plasma, all sorts of stuff). The set of articles by Denthor of Asphyxia on VGA programming are extremely good... If you get ahold of those (or I can send them to you), you will be in good shape. They're written for pascal/assembly, but they are very well done. David
