As long as this debate dont turn into one of those Jerry Springer type things (and I dont want anyone throwing chairs at me !)... At the end of the day 2D graphics dont really represent the real world very well; certain games suit different views better - side scrolling suits Sonic style games, top down suits RTS games and Isometric suit management/god games (and RTS as well)... Pure 3D is the only real solution if you want recognisable realworld scenes... And Isometric does take a lot more work than a normal top down or side scrolling (which are so easy it hurts :)... Theres some complex (sort of) maths behind isometric engines... Jack;
