DX8 speed question mateo (2 replies, 0 views) (2001-Jan-4)

I was going to ditch dx8 for 2d gfx because of the 256x256 texture cap, but then I thought I could use separate textures for each frame of animation, instead of putting it all on texture. Then I would have hundreds of tiny textures loaded at one time, though. Would this be slow or impractical?
