Yeah, but if you are going to learn everything yourself, you can still learn a lot. It's not like you have to be taught how to do everything, it is really a matter of being able to take what you currently know and using some commen sense to stretch it out into something new. If every game programmer goes to college and learns the same kind of stuff, you probably wouldn't really see much original stuff coming out.
