"Artificial Engines" for .NET - 3D-Level (4 replies, 10 views) (2003-May-18)
-
At 3D-Level (a Slovenian game development team), we have decided to make an interesting move. In order to popularize game development in .NET languages (VB.NET, C# and others) we have decided to make our Artificial Engines free to use for non-comercial products. Artificial Engines consists of Artificial Heart Game Engine that takes care of visual appearance and Artificial Reality Physics Engine that works on physical simulations. All interested .NET developers will be given access to articles and tutorials on our page. We will describe the use of our engines and show you how to create simple games from start to the final touch. All I found on this website was two DLL files. There is no documentation on how to use the "engines," and I couldn't get the demo program working, even though I have .NET and Directx 9 installed. If anyone has any luck with this, post your success story.

Do you have also managed DX? If not (or not sure) follow the instructions here: http://www.3dlevel.com/installsteps.php With all that installed we haven't had a user that the demo wouldn't run (unlike with VB6 which was a nightmare compared to .NET in some cases)

Hmm, being that the website has tutorials for you, on how to use the engine. There are 5 out now, with 1 or 2 released when the engine was released. :)
