cjb0087 | lol cool, i wish i was in the USA or canada and was able to get that. all of that stuff comes with VB.net 2003 except for the windows 2000. You probably got that because you posted the offer in a blog[:)] |
cbx | quote:Actually i'm in canada! :p |
cjb0087 | i said that. no you dont see an edited by sign, thats just your eyes playing tricks on you *whistles* |
messix | lol, yeah - i wish we got great offers like that. The last thing I saw that we could sign up for here was a free cd that gives you service pack 1 and all the Windows updates up to Feb this year. Of course, seen as though it was free I grabbed it :) |
VBBR | ...which you could also have downloaded...for free? |
cjb0087 | which uses bandwidth...which isnt free
btw heres a pic of what your supposed to get(just replace c++ for everybodys favourite two letters[:D])

BubbaJones | I think if you look closely you'll discover that your windows 2000 cd is service pack 4 |
Sion | Why, oh why, isn't this offer also valid for countries outside USA and Cannada... say European countries for instance!? :( |
VBBR | Well, bandwidth, in my case, is free. I pay a fixed amount and can get as many bytes as I want... for now at least. I think the company may start charging for bandwidth exceeding 3GB/month or something. The problem is I get at least 10 GB/month. |
messix | quote:It's not just bandwidth that's the problem. It's also the fact that once you rebuild your pc (and you intend to put XP or some other win os on), you can easily install SP1 and a whole bunch of patches quickly, without having to wait for them to d/l. I'm on 512k dsl and I know I find it much easier to install the 150meg sp1 off CD then d/l'ing it from the MS update [;)] |
VBBR | Sure, I'm on 256. Anyway a 150 MB file can be downloaded in just a few hours, unlike the really bad times when I had a dial-up 56K connection that just connected at around 30K and in reality just used to gave me 3-4 KB/s max. I downloaded the DX8 SDK in two weeks I think. Really far from the 25-30 KB/s I have now. [:D] |
