Triple or Tripple?
EACamThis is a really dumb question, but still a question of importance. I've seen Tripple used all over the place (even Jack Hoxley used it!). BUT...Tripple isn't a word. Whereas, Triple (only one P) is a word. Is this just a common misspelling (i did if for a while), or is it yet another spelling difference between british and american? I'm confuded. [:p] [?]
VBBROops... hey, is "confuded" a word? Isn't it "confused" ? [:P]
EACamFunny...it's called a typo. [;)] BESIDES THAT???
Sr. GuapoI don't think I've ever seen "tripple", but then again, I don't pay much attention to spelling(probably why my English teachers hate me)... I think it is just a common misspelling.
VBBRWell I think the right is "triple". I also think "tripple" sounds just strange. (as I'm not a native english speaker I can't really tell you... just what I think sounds better. [:D])
ballistikTripple = "held down the 'P' key a nano-second too long" [;)]
Eric Colemanwhat about trippple ?
Sr. Guapo2 nanoseconds
sdwAnother mistake you can look for is the improper use of '"its" and "it's". Where "it's" means "it is" and "its" is possessive. You'll commonly find people using "it's" as possessive. But hey, who cares about typos when you know what the person means?
Sr. GuapoYeah, that screwed me the first time I took the SAT...
masterboodaTripple is actually how they spell the word triple.......... like color is spelt colour over there..... I was stationed there for 2 years..... and besides the fact I wanted to drive on the other side of the road when I came back...... I kept spelling everything wrong...... as well as having the urge for a cuppa tea at 4:30 pm everyday.... DaBooda out......

Yup: Lift - Elevator Candy - Sweets Color - Colour colonization - Colonisation (or otherway around) Civilization - civilisation Gas - Fuel well, some like those :). Don't forget that the words are said completely different too. Sometimes if I say "router" as "rauhter" I get stared at.. "huh?" and if I say "roehter" (english), too. A lot of people here in Netherlands speak American english - That's on tv -, and so do I..
masterboodaDon't forget Lori is a big truck...... or getting run over by a Lori would seem pretty strange... And yes, stationed in the UK, while in the Air Force...Sigh.... I miss those days.... DaBooda out....
EACamSheesh! Y'all are so old! I'm not even out of high school (10th grade)! I guess Spodi and I are the youngins around here.
Sr. Guapocheck my profile!
VBBRHeh. I am very pleased to say that I am younger than you all... [:P] Seriously. I don't know if there is anyone younger than me, but... be knowing... Heh. In fact I'm 14.

Thanks for your service! [8D] -Bryk
EACamok ok...so there are some more of us youngins (probably the majority really). [;)]
Sr. GuapoMy first program was in 5th grade, in GW BASIC I may add <shiver>. All it did was ask for your name, then say hello to your name. Pretty neat for a 10 year old...
Eric ColemanWe were creating character generators in BASIC on the APPLE ][ computers to use in D&D games. yes, I'm an uber nerd.
Sr. GuapoWhat is D&D?
masterboodaD&D - Dungeons and Dragons.... The original RPG, and still the best.... And my first program in basic was on a Radio Shack trs 80 and it said "hello world"... now top that for old... And don't worry Eric..... I have also created character generators for d&d, but in qbasic... Don't get me wrong on this, but I feel alot of young people miss out on the true nature of programming, because they have started on a much higher level language... I remember when a subroutine looked like this.. 10 INPUT"Your Name?";A$ 20 GOSUB 100 30 END 100 Print"Your name is " + A$ 110 RETURN DaBooda out... P.S. Thank you for the comment Byrkovian...
VBBRWell my first program... you know? I don't remember!!! I *think* I started with a VB book that uncommonly, in the first chapter it teaches you, not how to create a "hello world" program, but a loan calculator! I think I was just 9 or 10 in the occasion... Of course I didn't understand anything right [8D] Then some time *after* this I learned a little bit of BASIC... Then I really started to understand how it works (programming). And now I sometimes get impressed with myself. The start of this year I was programming a fairly intermediate VB program (with interface) and got impressed with the time I got to solve the bugs. In fact, very few bugs appeared and I solved them in kind of 10 minutes the max. (just the other day I found a small problem, hehe... didn't look at it tough as it's so small noone notices it [:D])
EACamIntermediate? bah...I go advanced! i think...maybe...perhaps...depends...whatever. [:P]
VBBRHey I said I *was* developing an intermediate program, not that don't develop advanced ones... doesn't you think games are advanced programs? So this site is all about advanced software development [:D]
