I've been doing this stuff for a few years now and I'm getting bored with programming projects and never finishing them.
I do:
- Graphics
- 2D movement/physics
- Dishes
- Writing boring dialogue
- Spell-checking
- Winsock usage (lol)
I've programmed several games including:
- Run around and cut things
- Run around and cut things 2: More things to cut
- Walk around and stab things
- Walk back and forth and shoot stuff
- Jump around and fall in ditches

We are creating a new world much like the constructor in the Matrix. We are immersing ourselves in a reality that exists in ony raw data - yet it remains ours. We are the masters in the world that we create. We have more power than one could think of. We can create characters that think, walk, talk and interact. Basically, programming games takes us to a place that we can only dream of. It is a place inside our minds that becomes real through the CPU.
When I make games, I don't make games, make paralell universes. I can create "Joe" and that joe will be as real as a person. Joe can walk if I give him the attributes to walk. If running is not a game principle then Joe will never know what "running is". Do you understand? Yes, it's incredible isn't it? We are not just programmers, but creators with the greatest creativity! |
