I've been out of town recently because of work and I've been VERY busy. Anyways, I had some time today to look at the site to see what's been going on and there were 4 news items waiting to be approved.

Where are the moderators? For that matter, where is anyone?

Done.

What about you Lachlan? Do you have any desire to moderate content?

I'd be glad too, if you feel it would be helpful!

Do you have specific guildelines you want us to follow, or should be just use our best judgement?

As for guidelines, I'm glad you mentioned it.

For the news that gets submitted, make sure there is something to either look at, such as screen shots, or something to read or download. If someone plans to make a game in the future, then that isn't news. Websites for games that people want to make aren't very helpfull, especially when every link that you click goes to a page that says "under construction." Websites need to have some sort of content. If someone submits some news that links to a file for download, then download the file to make sure that it is programmed in VB or has some VB source code. Of course, VB isn't a requirement if it has something to do with game programming, such as artwork, game engines, or helper libraries/DLLs.

And if you're unsure about something, then simply edit the news and put a comment at the top so someone can see it, and then we can discuss the news before approving it.

Eric, I wouldn't mind moderating or helping out either. I usually glance here once a day or so.
