Ok, so VBGamer will be getting a facelift soon, so would anyone be interested in submitting some new ideas for a better layout and/or a new logo? |

I would be happy collaborating but my artistic skills are so bad that probably the site would get 0 visitors. Oh, wait, not 0. In fact it would have at least one...
You...
(of course if even you doesn't come here I will notice I have screwed the site)

Whatever. Who knows... |

The current location and originization of the different features are are a bit out of place.
Here are some demos that I made,
http://www.vbgamer.com/vb3.asp this uses CSS to create the buttons, the page resizes nicely. http://www.vbgamer.com/vb4.asp this one has New,Reviews,Previews, BHGL, and Coded in VB in the console section. http://www.vbgamer.com/vb5css.asp I used this theme from the Zen Garden website. |

vb5css.asp definitly looks cooler than the other ones, but I think it's too distracting. Of the three given, I like vb3.asp the most. |

Hmmmm. I say just fix those "misplacement" (I haven't noticed any)...but it's current layout is just fine for me...it's warm. vb5 definately looks cool...but sdw's right...and it's a little too...um...how should i put it...unoriginal, and cold. I dislike metalic, futuristic themes because they remind of cold outer-space or cold metal. This soft, dark, blue with dark grey just makes one feel...cozy. Boy, web design seems like house design! It's like painting a room...dark, blood red makes one feel cozy...light blue is cold...yellow is ick...purple is dumb, white is empty...etc.

Also, vb5css was a proof of concept page. It is entirely defined by CSS (no tables), so if you have a decent web browser, such as FireFox, you can view the page without CSS, which is pretty cool. If anyone is familar with the CSS Zen Garden, you'll know how powerfull CSS truely is. With the vb5 page, the entire website's look and feel can be edited quite easily. |

If I can get some time I can try to come up with a couple different logos for you to look at. I'll post anything that I come up with. I like the layout of vb5css, but not the color-scheme, etc. |

I think vb5 is the best in terms of positioning and general layout. vb3 and vb4 seemed so strange in my 1152x864 pixels display. The colors are a bit odd but as you said it can be changed fairly easy...
Also, don't forget to allocate some space for the "latest posts" area! |
Whatever. Who knows... |

One question. Why do all the icons, etc. blink when I move my mouse next to their link? Like those sliding lights in vb5, they always blink when I move my mouse over them or their link. And the arrows in the current theme, the entire button disappears for a second. ??? |

Probably because you're using IE 5 or possibly you have IE to always download images instead of only downloading them when needed.
Comments are great, but suggestions are better. Create some logos or something. |

1) Keep the original logo. I like it. :)
2) if using the vb3.asp thing, I'd prefer a different order for the buttons I guess... like tutorials, files, and forum at the top, then the more static stuff (preview/review), and then extra's like BHGL, newsticker.
3) If the buttons blink, change your IE's caching settings (Options -> [current tab] Temporary internet files -> Settings -> Automatically -> ok. |
