i still can't open my own direction, spot ,or point light in my basic 3d platform(just a ground), also why i can't enabled stencil????depth???
when i set light0.enable=true, there will be nothing without black in form
how to set up a light and open it?do i need to set normal for the groung?

Yes, you need to calcualte normals for the vertices, and set the correct FvF type. There are probably a few tutorials around, which I might have bookmarked..

(dx8 tutorials are there plenty, and you should beable to find those easily ;))

Could you post your code for this as it's easier to determine where the problem is.
