Yup, they sure could Alex (0 replies, 0 views) (2000-Jun-9) If the owners to the copyright of Star Trek were to find out about Star Trek: Quadrant Wars and felt the need to sue then they would have every right.
And as for the Pac-Man clones ... they ARE being sued! Have you heard about the huge Hasbro law suits? They bought the rights to many old Atari games (Frogger, Centipede, Pac-Man, etc) and are suing companies for making games that are "similar." However, they are a big company searching for big bucks, so at the moment they're suing people like GT Interactive and MVP Software. At the moment they are not paying attention to the little freeware programs all over the internet because it isn't worth their while--but they COULD sue, if they wanted to.
