This is actually a VERY complex problem. I suggest you take a read through this entire article about "Rotating the Camera without it screwing up" =)

It's more C++ orientated, but the theory should be there to give you a head start, it's all to do with rotating your camera around it's OWN axis, not the world axis. It all makes sense when you read this document =)
