I'm sure that if he had that little system memory left then Windows would use one of its many 'features' to let him know... Have you installed anything new recently? Maybe new drivers? Have you updated your virus scanner and done a full scan? Have you any other symptoms? Is anything else affected? Other games? Applications? etc...
