RE: Revolution engine Cruisinr (0 replies, 0 views) (2000-May-19) hey thanks adam! what you posted wasn't "crap" I am a real beginner!!! the over excited (not anymore) yipee kiyay kind.
i read throug a VB book in a week. i wrote a few small programs just to apply the principles I learned so I knew that,,,, I KNEW!
what you explained about the engine helped, it is what i thought it is...of course i will have to find more detailed info to keep going but that helps. dont think im finding the easy way out, i AM learning directdraw but its coming so slow, i dont like reading tutorials...because i have to sit down for long periods at the computer...hurts my back and eyes! i much rather read....oh boy if there was a dX VB book...
also many tutorials aren't that good for beginners...not really written for us..they help but they would be even a greater help if the person writing the tutorial bore that in mind. it's like readin the latter half of a physics book you have for a course.
actually after i posted that...i went back and looked again at the engine..looked in the book and read what it said about passing arguments..still didnt get it, then i went back and looked at what i was writing again, and it hit me....hes just telling me the arguments the procedure needs! otherwise it wont work.. it has to be given 3 arguments.. so i came to say dont worry i was a nuthead, but anyone could still explain the engine stuff.....
so anyone else's input would be great too! hanks!
