Hey Rag !! Ok i've just e-mailed you a sample of using mciSendString, it plays midi's using the system (and pauses resumes stops getlength getposition etc etc) and can easily be adapted for wavs (although god knows why you would want to use mci since it's a pain in the ass, just use the SoundPlay API Function =) But mine is not to question why, mine is just to do or die, as they say =) HTH Adam
