RE: Dead games? Carl (2 replies, 0 views) (2000-May-13) There is a very good reason why Final Flame died, I started work on it at around the same time that I started to learn D3DIM, and as I didn't want to start a 3D project without enough experience I decided to start Final Flame. Soon after starting FF I had my exams so work stopped while I was revising, I then got some more time and saw the Gamedev.net contest and just had to enter, my entry "Shaolin Soldier" was one of the winners beating lots of C++ games. The contest only finished a couple of weeks ago and I hadn't touched Final Flame for a good couple of months, and as it hadn't really had too much work done on it (just a basic engine, no gameplay at all), I decided it wasn't worth finishing.
BUT 1 GOOD thing has come from scraping Final Flame, I now feel very confident in D3DIM that I am starting a new game, its a 3D Rally game.
I've only got a few more exams left then I'll have the whole summer off with just a part time job until October when I'm off to university, so this means that I can devote loads of time to making this game, and I promise you that unless something drastic happens, that I will finish this game and it will be damn good.
Off this topic, The Ferrari to be used in Enigma is awesome, how did you get it looking so good.
