I'm currently working for a company that makes applications in VB. Mostly database related stuff. They have measured the difference between the two ways, and found that there is a too big performance loss when using the slower way, And that's for database applications!! Imagine what it would do to a game, where every cycle you can save counts. So I would say it is NOT negligable. /Corre
