Did Jack Hoxley disappear? Phalen (4 replies, 0 views) (2001-May-1) I tried emailing him, but no response. This was concerning the Tutorial on Triple Buffering in DirectDraw for increased framerates.. right now, a 3 layer 32x32 pixel tile engine runs at 19fps, which is worthless for any 2d game, I need at least 30fps but thats impossible with just regular buffing so.... I checked out the tutorial and implimented triple buffering to my game, and it turns out that triple buffering does absolutely nothing..... no frame rate increase nor decrease.. interesting.. Not only that, but there are some references in the tutorial hat doesnt even exist.. ? ddsd3 or whatever.. hmmm.. I may have to end up making a 2d tile engine in DirectX8, however, i have found any ones made in vb that goes past 15 frames per second.... which sorta makes, making a 2d engine worthless..
