Back in my QB days... Rag on a Stick (0 replies, 0 views) (2000-May-8)

When I was about 10, I learnt QBasic, and was a programmer ever since. I didn't have net access or anything else like that, no books or tutorials. Only the help file and my brother who basically introduced me to it, taught me a few commands (print, input, screen, circle, line, do..loop, for..next) and then I taught myself the rest. Because of that, my programming was really unconventional and I didn't realise the evils of gosub so it was what I used instead of Subs. Also, I invented my own file format for graphics and made a little sprite editor for my games. And I still remember racing through the desert in my pizza delivery car and then getting into the city while dodging cactuses and cars so I could deliver the pizza before it went cold. Ahh, those were the days.
