Someone by the name of Michael Braitmaier created a DLL that does movie playback (AVI,MPEG) as long as you have the codec for it. It does both A/V, and i believe that it will not stop your program since it requires a loop with the function DrawVideoFrame to be able to display the frames. I don't remember the author's webpage, but I have the DLL and some sample code if you would like it.
