Re: Links Module Mattman (0 replies, 0 views) (2001-Jan-10)

- Should the links be strictly categorized, and each category displayed on seperate pages? No, they should definately all appear on the same page. That's one thing that I didn't like about the black hole, cause it made it time consuming when trying to find something you wanted. - Should there be the ability to specify what type of content is on the site (eg: checkboxes for things like 'articles/tutorials', 'source code', 'completed game(s)', 'game(s) under development, etc)? Yeah, but a text field to place our own description of the site would be good to go with it, so that there aren't 5 sites that have 'articles/tutorials' and 'source code' checked with no other description of what's on the site. - I think I'd prefer not to have graphical links (banners etc) allowed, but what do you guys think? I think they should be able to be submitted, but not appear on the webpage. When the mouse moves over the link, the image should appear. Check out Evergreen Terrace (<A HREF="http://www.nohomers.net">http://www.nohomers.net</A>) for an example of what I mean (though they use text as opposed to images). *Note: I don't think this works in Netscape, only Internet Explorer. - A voting/rating system - good? bad? Could possibly be based solely upon 'hits' - eg: clicks on the link to that site would be logged and tallied I think there should be a 5-star system as well as logged hits. The number of stars could be chosen by each visitor/member of The Nexus, and an average will be displayed accordingly. Beside this, the number of hits to the site could be displayed. This is just my $0.02...I thought the ideas are pretty good, and that no one would be upset with these ideas if used. :) In any case, good luck with it, and keep up the good work! ;)
