Yeah, I've got the Dx8 reference included, getting that side of it going isn't the problem. I think it's my unfamiliarity with the new objects in .Net that are causing me problems. For instance splitting the adapter description that is returned by GetAdapterInfo(). Rather than working with the string data type, I'm now using the String object as in Java. That's fine in itself, but when i go to use the line l_oAdapterInfo.Description.toString() it returns "System.Byte[]"; which is of course, the data type description, not the contents of the string! A similar problem is in returning the deviceidentifier field. Anyway, I'll keep working at it and if I come up with anything I'll post it to Jack as it's his tutorials I'm converting. On the subject of the convertor, as of beta 1 it's very poor. Rather than convert the code into clean .NET code it makes use of a library called VB.Compatibility and you get loads of overcomplex and hard to understand functions back. In a simple app I converted it had added loads of lines extra. when I rewrote it straight it was half the size. I'd avoid it at all costs from now on, the only good thing it does is import form designs if you have a complex gui. If you have any backend processing classes it'll really **** them up.
