DirectDraw is completely gone, but you can emulate it with little pain using Direct3D - whilst no where near as good or powerful you can still do 2D graphics in Dx8... www.vbexplorer.com/directx4vb/ and look for lessons 3 and 4 in the DirectX 8 section... Jack;
