You talking about storing, generating, texturing?? Storing, I prefer height maps - nice, easy and fast Generating - a paint program, or a fractal algorithm Texturing - one massive texture! I designed a cool landscape texture generation tool for this... that help? btw, Quadtrees and Octrees are for visibility - and in my experience are pretty damn slow in VB... Jack;
