See, what happens when you flip the backbuffer, it actually SWITCHES the pointer in memory between the primary and backbuffer... which means whatever was on the primary surface is now on your backbuffer, and the backbuffer is now on the primary. That means you have to draw the background for two frames instead of one before it will work properly... Hopefully that is understandable, I'm pretty tired :P
