Hey ever'body. I'm still around, I just haven't felt compelled to post lately. =) I agree with you wholeheartedly Jason. You remember that when I first started vbgp, I linked to your message board on vbgh instead of creating a new one. I thought it was better to keep traffic in one place rather than try to build my own little following. :) But soon, ambition changed my goals, and I decided to start my own forum. In turn, two people have linked their new site to my message board, but as their hit counters spun a few revolutions, they were compelled to create their own too. When people stumble into something like this "community", some of them get wrapped up in the idea of making their own mark before they even see all the marks that already exist. It's why we have so many fledgling websites that don't make it, and it's why we see so many pipe dream game projects. I've been reading the stuff about integrating all the websites, and I'm personally against it. Yes, we need a big lodestone like the website that David is constructing, a communal center for questions, ideas, and announcements, but the community will die a quick, withering death without all those "other" sites. Sites like VoodooVB, VBGH, Nerd Universe, and more. Content-rich sites, each imbued with the webmaster's unique personality. If we were to all combine our efforts, it would create one oversized, sloth-like site with no personal charm. And that's not good for anybody. Just my two coppers, tatsuo
