He was messing around... Rag on a Stick (5 replies, 0 views) (2000-Nov-21) Lighten up, he was just joking =)
Personally, I've steered clear of this entire topic for a few reasons, firstly, I don't have a site of my own so I don't fully understand it and mainly because it is opinions vs opinions, both which will never change, and this is material that starts flame wars (although it has remained very friendly to our credit).
My stance on the situation is to keep the separation. Firstly, there is a huge diversity between all the sites, many people at some will not realise what is happening at others, I frequent a few message boards, and they all have regulars, some who I've never seen anywhere else, how would they feel if suddenly the site they were used to suddenly dissapeared and was replaced by one big meaty site? I'm not sure. But the point I'm getting at, is that it isn't just the VB Gaming Community, but the VB Gaming CommunitIES, and you can't just put them together and immediately have a mix.
I think we should wait and see what happens with Davids thingy, perhaps it will be like Codeworld, remember how quicly that took off (almost as fast as it disapeared - very sad)? So lets wait and see what happens, and I'm pretty sure that merging stuff would do nothing except make people less happy, it is very common for people to say "Lets mix A and B but only mix the good points of each and make something really good, what they end up with is the bad points of A combined with the bads of B" Just my experience.
For now, lets all play the waiting game......
