RE: So...David? David Goodlad (4 replies, 0 views) (2000-Nov-19) Well said SLotman... I agree with you about the content being the most important part of the site. But, the 'functionality' is needed imho to make it easier to manage the content. I know that I am having trouble keeping up with news and such, and this makes things easier for myself to handle.
Don't worry, once the backend is in place, content will definately come first. You've likely heard all the bs about how "separating content from design" is the way to go, and guess what? It is. I have to setup the 'design' - the methods to present the content - in a way that makes content easy to manage, and easy to read. This is what I'm really focusing on when I talk about 'functionality'. But, there's also the other piece of 'functionality': putting the content INTO the system to be displayed in the first place. If it's just myself trying to manage it, I get overwhelmed. I become a 'middleman' between the users and the content providers (the developers), I end up slowing down the flow of information.
Anyway, enough deep talk about this stuff. It's getting way too late for that, I've got programming to do! :P
