RE: Sprite Clipping on Full Screen DirectX (scroll DiscoStew (0 replies, 0 views) (2000-May-4) The way I would clip other objects is to get the coordinates of each object or char, including width & height, within the screen area, then use an algorithm that will only copy the visible part to the backbuffer. I'd show you an example, but I just don't have the time now. Maybe someone else knows what I mean.

where I am making an rpg maker that can make Secret of Mana clones. Its very fast (60fps on 100Mhz 486 with 16MB Voodoo Banshee), but it requires DX7 with DX7 video cards that are capable of WIDE_SURFACES. I may put a demo up soon, but not yet. Not until there is more to see. |
