Ummm, actually it is the internics monopoly. They specifically state on the home page they are partnered with the eNIC. It is not the monopoly of NetworkSolutions, the sole provider for seven years, anymore. That $10 fee is $10 yes, but did you read the subcontract, that is 12$ a year for under 50 domain names registered, and a setup fee of 79$ to become a member. How is that saving you money? And there are more caveats.... It doesn't do a whois search on the global whois directory. So you might think the name is available, fom their database, when in fact the global registry shows it isn't.
