No offence to you but people that keep "starting projects" with out finishing the original's bug me. I like to see people woh have a project and devote there life to it until it's complete, not semi-complete and not in beta.. but actually finished. Don't take this personally, as I know alot of people who do it. As for your quesiton if your using DirectX you may aswell stick to it and use DirectMusic. I haven't actually used the DSL though as I try not to use too much memory... I'm a big fan of optimisation.
