I've been playing around with D3DIM, and have managed to get a fairly good engine working, but when you get close to an object with a texture applied, it slows the program down a tremendous amount. Its fine with objects without textures, and I can make the player keep its distance from most objects, but what can I do with walls and the floor, the player will always be close to the floor, and should be able to walk up to walls. So is there anything I can do to stop this big slowdown? BTW. I use DrawIndexedPrimitive and the D3DVERTEX type. Thanks for any help with this.
