10% is the average, but actually 10% can be quite a lot when you think, you could use 10% of that processing time on AI for example. Look at it this way, if your rendering takes 1000ms to do 30 frames (30fps) with a 10% speed increase (using only 900ms) you could either get an extra 4fps (which is quite a lot for a 30fps game) OR use that 100ms on other tasks (which again is a LOT of time, 100ms is an age in game terms =) So while 10% doesn't sound a lot, it's actually a considerable saving... For a second comparison, a game running at 100fps could jump an extra 10fps (tons of fps =) In my mind, thats a considerable saving, remembering that getting extra Frames Per Second is not all that matters here, having that extra 100ms would be welcomed greatly ;) Adam
