Yeah, it does sound like something for the Z Buffer, except I think that they use the reciprocal (1 / WhatEver) to optimise it or somthing like that. I don't think it would be too hard to work out, maybe even do it as simply as: (Camera.Z - Vertex.Z) / 1 But I'm no 3d hotshot (read, I've never used it before) so don't take my word for it. hth
