Free Video Memory and FourCC's Jack Hoxley (0 replies, 0 views) (2000-Aug-30) hi,
Just two things that are driving me round the bend at the moment, any help is much appreciated...
1. Free memory.
I want to check how much space my textures are using up - but no matter what I try, the numbers are the same before AND after the surface is created. For some reason if I specify the DDSCAPS_VIDEOMEMORY (or similiar) the program crashes...
2. FourCC's
I want to check what texture formats are available, in particular the DXT1-5 formats. I run through the enumeration and end up with a list of 5 numbers; which is sort-of okay, the SDK tool says my card supports all the DXT formats, but these numbers dont mean anything. How can I get the text equivelent...
