As David said, you can jump off walls if you are falling down while next to them. Maybe you could introduce some different types of tiles, like platforms you can jump through but not fall through and trampolines and conveyor belts (I think I'm just saying what SlayFest has). Oohh, yeah, and nuclear waste and a cattle prod :)
