Thanks everybody, I've greatly improved the game now, its got a proper time trial race mode, stores the best laps etc. etc. I'll upload the new version in a couple of days time, but I need to sleep now because its 6:30 AM, and I've been up all night getting it done!!! I'm not 100% sure why it doesn't run on some computers, I'll try and get a debug version together to pinpoint where the error occurs. A 3D card is pretty much a neccessity, if the FPS drops too low then the collision detection goes crazy and gets you stuck in walls etc. Just like some of you mentioned. I've also added a visibility algorithm to it, so it should run faster now, although it would probably be more effective on larger and more detailed tracks, but it definately works.
