Voodoo VB is a great place to start =) We have a lot of Directx 7 (I'm assuming you mean DirectDraw) tutorials. A basic Directdraw tutorial (initializing, blitting images from surfaces, multiple surfaces, color-keying, etc.). We don't have a tiling tutorial for dx7 but we do have 2 for Bitblt, which should be a stepping stone. Okay, I'm going to stop now because this is really starting to feel like an ad.
